A Mountain View, California, startup is taking a model for providing cheap legal services companies like Legal Zoom pioneered and pushing it further through crowdsourcing.
Today, Nitin Gupta, 30, and Jay Mandal founder of LawPivot , announced they?d raised another $1 million from Vaizra Investments, Venture51, Quotidian Ventures and angel investors. The company, which started as a sort of ask-a-lawyer service, is also adding the ability for lawyers to perform such tasks as drafting agreements for small businesses.
Description? The legal industry has always been slow to adopt technology,? said Gupta, 30, himself a lawyer. ?Now is the perfect time. What we?re really trying to do is address pain points on both sides.?
