Apps for Planning the Perfect Wedding ? Weekly Smartphone App Roundup

2012-08-29---Wedding Apps - OP.jpgAre wedding preparations making your head spin? My fianc?e and I were facing the same issue. We were stuck under a mountain of reference books, bridal magazines and old clip outs she accumulated over the years wondering 'where do we start?' I decided to go digital, and after a bit of shopping we found a few apps to help us weave the pieces together. Here are a few that led us to water and are currently keeping us on track.

iWedding Deluxe
We wanted an app that could do it all, and we found iWedding Deluxe. The individual check-lists, budget manager, guest list with table settings, and built-in directory absorbed all our information. Soon everything just clicked into place like a jigsaw puzzle. It even has a passcode protection for the bride's dress, for safekeeping. Currently on sale for $6

Do you have every detail accounted for? Are you sure? Maybe you should double check with The Knot's Wedding 911 app. Wedding 911 delivers a long slew of answers to questions about scheduling, itineraries, etiquette, proper attire and more. It even has a section to ask your own questions in the forum if you ever need assistance. As they say, knowing is half the battle. Free

Wedding Planning
A similar app to iWedding Deluxe that's big on features and accessibility is Wedding Planning. I personally love the drop-down checklist interface, the blue accents and especially the price. Alongside the substantial to-do list features, there is a budget itinerary to cross off, which is divided up into separate custom categories such as attire, event, deposit, venue and more. As an added bonus you can even arrange your guest list as well. Free

Wedding Registry
An important aspect for any wedding is an organized gift registry. However, limiting yourself to just one store creates invisible boundaries, and using several registries at numerous stores is a hassle. Wedding Registry allows you to create your own registry which you can load with whatever items you want, even from retailers online. Scan any barcode you see anywhere, anyplace with your handset, and it adds to your online registry. Happy scanning! $1
iOS equivalent: Wedding Scan - $3

Table Planner
Creating a seating plan for the reception is a precise science. Table Planner helps with everything concerning your guest list, including who RSVPed, who will be attending just the ceremony, who will be invited for the whole day, and what they will be eating. Table planning is easy; just input the amount of tables based on your requirements and how many each sits. Afterwards you can play around with who sits where with a swipe of your finger. $2

Wedding Budget
Arrange the ideal financial path for your nuptials with Wedding Budget. Organize when deposits need to be paid and keep tabs on where money has already been paid to help pave the way. You can input variables into separate section (dress, caterer, venue, etc.) and make a checklist for each. There's nothing quite like the satisfying feeling of crossing them off one by one as the day draws closer. Free
