Antigone Peyton, Founder and CEO Read Antigone?s Posts Antigone has more than a decade of industry and complex IP litigation experience. She helps start-ups and multi-national companies protect and grow valuable IP assets, and she has successfully represented companies involved in billion-dollar lawsuits. Antigone has litigated cases covering a wide range of technologies and products, from pharmaceutical products and medical devices to apparel, Internet, and aerospace technologies. She also has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and copyright, trademark, and trade secret issues. Before law school, Antigone worked as a scientist, conducting clinical and pre-clinical research and magnetic resonance studies at a large medical institution. This experience taught her the importance of business interests and needs when crafting legal solutions?a perspective often missing from lawyers? toolbox. Having worked for both a trial and an appellate judge, Antigone brings an insider?s practical perspective to her litigation and client counseling practice. Antigone also teaches other attorneys, law students, and advises companies on legal issues relating to ediscovery, social media, cloud computing, and international data transfer and privacy restrictions. She follows current news and research to solve massive data issues encountered in complex litigations. She also participates in The Sedona Conference? dialogs on these topics and has worked with her Sedona colleagues to craft guidelines that cover legal and technical considerations relating to cloud computing and inactive data stores. Antigone taught appellate writing and legal document drafting courses at the George Mason University School of Law. In law school, while working as a patent agent, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the editor-in-chief of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal. She does much more than legal work, though?she is also an avid fruit and vegetable gardener and enjoys growing heirloom tomatoes in the summer.
